The first damage was when a farm sustained roof damage and a barn was swept away. The tornado went through the town of Lewis, destroying many homes and outbuildings. One building's roof went through a home, injuring 2 people critically. The tornado exited Lewis, causing damage to farms near Belpre, just before exiting Edwards County. The tornado tracked another 25 miles before hitting Hudson, where 1 person was killed. Grain silos were twisted to the ground and homes were significantly damaged. The tornado moved out of Hudson, snapping trees and damaging crops as it moved into a very rural area. The tornado soon briefly crossed into Reno County and Rice County before dissipating. |
