The 2016 Slovakia tornado outbreak was the costliest and one of the deadliest tornado outbreaks in Europe. The tornado outbreak caused the loss of at least 39 lives and damages up to €3,644,481,520.00 ($4 billion in 2015 USD).

Meteorological synopsis

An extra-tropical cyclone moved over Europe on June 3. It started to gain high winds due to very high dew points in Belgium and Germany. Supercell thunderstorms began forming in the Czech Republic. The first tornado was a T5 tornado that affected parts of Nitra, the capital city of the Nitra Region. Another tornado, a T4, struck the Nový Jičín area. The strongest of the outbreak was a T10 tornado that struck the town of Krupina, killing at least 24 people. Overall, the tornado outbreak killed 39 people and caused €3,644,481,520.00.

F2 T5 Southern Nitra 8:53-9:01 AM A tornado struck the southern portion of Nitra, denuding trees and stripping roofs off of homes and buildings, injuring three.
F1 T2 WNW of Vajnory 9:42-9:46 AM Several trees were snapped and a barn was destroyed.
F3 T6 SE of Horné Dubové 10:00-10:12 AM 1 death - A house was destroyed and another building partially collapsed.
F0 T1 Banská Štiavnica 11:23-11:25 AM Twelve small sheds and other outbuildings were either damaged or destroyed.
F0 T0 E of Ilija 11:27-11:30 AM Shingles were stripped off of a home.
F4 T9 NNW of Blatnica to S of Ružomberok 11:59 AM-12:21 PM 3 deaths - A home was completely obliterated, twelve cars were destroyed, and hundreds of trees were downed.
F4 T10 Krupina 12:20-12:38 PM 24 deaths - After noon, a violent tornado touched down in a field. It gained strength and also became slightly wider. The tornado struck Krupina at 12:26, destroying buildings and obliterating other buildings. One house was picked up and thrown hundreds of yards. A church was destroyed and cars were tossed through the air. The tornado killed 24 people in the city alone, becoming one of the deadliest tornadoes recorded in Europe.

F2 T4 Northern Bratislava 12:33-12:39 PM A tornado leveled many small buildings, including 20 homes, a church, and two schools, injuring three people.
