A PDS IN JANUARY???!!?!?
OK, so i thought id check out the storm reports and previous tornadic alerts form overnight, and i find that tornado watch 17 was a PDS, with most of the warning criteria maxed out.A 90% probability for tornadoes, and an 80% chance for EF2+ tornadoes for parts of AL and MS. I'm actually pretty surprised that a High Risk wasnt issued overnight, with the chances for tornadoes being that high, but nevermind.
It seems worth mentioning that numerous reports of tornadoes with significant debris on radar and on the ground says that intense to violent tornadoes have occurred overnight, with the possibility of the tornado around midnight in LA being at least an EF2 if its confirmed, having been on the ground for close to 45 minutes on radar imagery. …
Tornado madness across most of the southern Plains
OK, ive been monitoring the system since it developed 3 days agooff the Pacific coast, and the long awaited madness is happening.
A likely EF3 tornado struck Hattiesburg Ms at about 0930 my time yesterday morning, levelling buildings in its path, and since then, almost every tornado has produced significant structural damages, and the threat continues to grow larger as new supercells continue to fire.
Long lived tornadoes have occurred in GA and LA,and cells are beginning to develop hook echos as well, raising the concerns of intense to violent tornadoes.
Either way, ill post again later on as the situation continues. I will not be surprised if an EF4 tornado were to happen overnight in TX or LA, where the cells seem most concentrated.
Severe weather threat: January 21-22
Today the Storm Prediction Center issued a moderate risk for the Ark-La-Miss region and an enhanced risk for most of the Southeast. A 10% risk of tornadoes has been issued for the Ark-La-Miss area, and a 10% hatched risk for the Florida Panhandle, Southeast Alabama, and Central Georgia.
There have already been several squall lines in Alabama and Georgia with some small, localized areas of rotation, and a few wind and tornado reports this morning. Supercells are expected to fire up in the Ark-La-Miss region this afternoon as a shortwave creates more lift, followed by either another squall line or more supercells in the evening and overnight in Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
I think this is the earliest moderate risk issued in the year since 20…
4 dead in tornadoes with a second day of tornadoes today.
4 were killed in Mississippi from last night's tornadoes, with another moderate risk today.
Am I a EF2 very active or a Chat Moderator

...Southeast Atlantic coast Sunday/day 4...
Substantial cyclogenesis is expected, generally in the immediate lee
of the southern Appalachians, Sunday into Monday morning as a strong
mid-upper shortwave trough traverses the Southeast and Gulf basin.
There are some differences in the details regarding the cyclogenesis
and lingering influences of a lead speed max early in the period.
However, the scenario still appears favorable for a squall line to
form along or in advance of the synoptic cold front which will then
move across parts of FL/…
Stepping Down from Adminship
Dear fellow users of the Hypothetical Tornadoes Wiki,
- This might seem sudden, but I'm stepping down from the staff of this wiki. I know that I did some things as an admin, but I don't have much time for this wiki anymore. I will still be around here and there, but I'm no longer going to be an administrator.
Your former administrator,
TG
Prepping
OK then guys, time to bring you up to speed again for the update. I filed a spotlight request about a week agao, which began going through about 4 this morning my time, which i think is encouraging to this community.
For those of you who dont know what a spotlighting is or its benefits, i shall outline the ones i know (ive never done this before). The wiki will get a special mention by staff, which will place us on the bar of wikis at the bottom of every page on every wiki. Hopefully this will help to attract evenmore users here in given time. Whats more, this will put us in a position to be able to link up with other wikis similar to our own.
Heres what needs doing to make the wiki look its best:
- Pages with bugs on them will need the bugs co…

I HAVE BEEN PROMOTED!?!?!
So yeah, i just got promoted to a Patroller...i am thanking Hurricane Layten for this promotion, here is the message from Hurricane Layten. "hi, just a quicky. You have just been promoted to be our first Patroller. This means all of your edits are automatically patrolled, and that you can patrol the edits of non admin users on this wiki. Please use this responsibly, and congratulations." this is my next project which is coming soon! Unknown
A quick changes update
I am posting this quick update to tell you that the Patroller group was added this evening my time to our wiki. Be sure to congratulate NoJO on being our first patroller here, and dont forget that the next admin meeting is at 1900 UTC/1400 E/1300 C/1100 P time Friday. Thanks.
2017 HAS STARTED, AND A SEVERE WEATHER EVENT?
Happy New Year, 2017 may be a active tornado season with Tornadoes already getting ready to start on JANUARY 1?!?! yeah...
NEW YEARS DAY TORNADO OUTBREAK!?!?!?!?!
The SPC is forecasting a Slight Risk of Severe Thunderstorms on NEW YEARS DAY!!! I think there will be a few tornadoes on NEW YEARS DAY!!! Happy New Years Eve btw xD
Tornado Expieriences
I haven't been through a legit tornado, but I was under several tornado watches and warnings, I was under 2 direchos, one in Chicago, and one in my current city which I won't reveal due to privacy reasons. I wish to see one, but not die from it.
Will 2017 have EF5 tornadoes and derechoes?
After a 3 year drought of Derechoes and EF5 tornadoes...i've been thinking...can 2017 be a above average season in Tornadoes and Derechoes? well...there are two things...first up...More than 1,000 tornadoes and about 5 high risk days...i think there can be a EF5 or two next year...second up...a well below average season with less than 80 tornadoes and no enhanced risk or moderate risk days...as well as no EF3 tornadoes or stronger.
Changes for 2017
Just a quick post to highlight some of the changes to come in the following months.
First of all, i have mailed staff to ask i we can have a new rights group added to the wiki, Autopatrolled. This right, if made by staff, will enable the contributions by trusted users to have their edits patrolled without an admin having to do it for them.
As you all know by now, we have had issues finding another bureaucrat. This issue hasbeen solved with Steve820 winning the thread to determine which admin would become a bureaucrat.
Any more changes the admin team should be posted here by me over the coming weeks.

As the final RWT of the year was issued today...i just recorded IND's RWT...other than that...see you guys later!
2017 - Looking Into the Future
Hello, I am TornadoGenius, also called TG by users on several wikis. Since it is close to the New Year, I decided to make a blog post about looking into the future and not looking into the past. We need to think about what this New Year will hold and rejoice it, not just think of it as another horrible year. What are you planning to change that will alter your life in a better way?
Good suggestions:
- Relax, and be calm instead of being stressed.
- Be wise about your decisions.
- Be imaginative and create better ideas for the wiki.
I hope this will help everybody getting through the possible hard times of the upcoming year. One thing that stresses me is having to go through the hardships of administrating the wikis I have rights on. I am a bureaucrat…
Resignation
Good afternoon.
This is thethird time I have spoken to you on this site, where so many decisions have been made that shaped the history of this wiki. The previous time I did so to was discuss with you some matters that I believe affected the interest of this place.
In all the decisions I have made in what is now a relatively lenghty life on here, I have always tried to do what was best for the wiki. In the past few days, however, it has become evident to me that I no longer have a strong enough base to remain in the rights team that would justify continuing that effort. As long as there was such a base, I felt strongly that it was necessary to continue adding to and fixing the wiki; that to do otherwise would be unfaithful to the spirit of t…
The Service Sector
Good evening.
This is my very first time speaking not just to certain users, but to this whole Wiki, no matter how small its population may be. Each time I have voiced my opinion, it was typically questioning content; whether it was to constructively criticize, or merely comment. Throughout my relatively short time on this Wiki, I have focused almost exclusively on my own articles as a basic user in attempt to create a well-constructed article to express my creative views with weather, to convey my knowledge and experience as a way to satisfy my meteorological tastes. This was the underlying motive to my joining of this particular Wiki. Something about my limited but well-built works must have stood out to those in charge of this Wiki, and …
Changes and plans for the wiki
Hello there guys. Is post is probably well overdue, considering the changes bagan back in August, but this wiki is currently under changes. As you would have noticed, back in August, all inactive users with rights were completely demoted, and were replaced with more active users on the wiki.
Recently, there began a process of cleansing, in which the admin team is planning to remove all the nessessary pages from the wiki, with the aim of making the pages here only suitable for the wiki topic - tornadoes. This pricess is likely to last awhile, and so as the head of this wiki, i ask anyone who sees this, especially thise that are content moderators or higher to consider adding the deletion template to the pages that are most likely to be delet…
Three names retired and possible outbreak on one day!
Three names have been retired and replaced in the Atlantic and Pacific:
- Erika: Tropical Storm Erika was the second tropical storm to be retired. The name Elsa was chosen to replace it.
- Joaquin: Hurricane Joaquin was retired for the El Faro incident and extensive damage in the Bahamas. The name Julian replaced it.
- Patricia: Hurricane Patricia was retired for its extreme intensity. The replacement name is Pamela for 2021.
A possible outbreak of tornadoes could also happen in the Central United States. Severe storms have passed through Topeka, Kansas City, and St. Louis. Severe storms are also tracking in Indiana and Ohio.
NTC News/ One year later...how this town changed
- One year ago today, an EF5 tornado with winds of 255 mph tore through Western Iowa, killing 16 people in the city of Ida Grove. The small Iowan town was devastated by this tornado during the April 20-23, 2015 tornado outbreak. The tornado that struck Ida Grove was the strongest of 103 tornadoes in that outbreak. The Ida Grove mayor, Morris Hurd, made a speech about what happened in the morning hours of April 21, 2015. "For it is not our cause, but of nature's fault."
- Suburbs of Des Moines were also struck that day, resulting in three deaths. The wide, EF3 tornado destroyed office buildings at the Des Moines International Airport. Along with the damage at the airport, a mall collapsed and at least 300 more were damaged or destroyed. Two twin…
Hypothetical Storm Chasing Videos?
So I play Garry`s Mod right, and I have Storm Chasing maps on it.
And I had to wonder.. could MY GMOD Storm Chasing videos be used to show what, Hypothetically, a Storm Chaser would see if it happened?
I may make an Article at some point with one of my Videos as a Chase Example. CycloneRyne94 (talk) 01:56, March 31, 2016 (UTC)

Hi im new
Hello im new here. I hope you dont mind if i use your pages to learn for my pages. Thanks. I might need help so i hope youy dont mind if i ask you some things later on. Bye for now.
Why I like wikia...
I had found wikia on the internet on December 20, 2014. Since I liked weather a lot, I found the following wikis:
Hypothetical Hurricanes Hypotheical Tornadoes and last but not least, Hypothetical Earthquakes
I loved these wikis so much that I went on to them every day. But later, I forgot about wikia. I was spending more time on Scratch.mit.edu. I remembered about wikia whenI got out of school, listing things I would do this summer. I have spent more time on wikia than ever since June of this year.
Thanks, 162
New Hypothetical Tornadoes Feature.. Sorta
SO a new feature (Sorta) has been added that may make Tornado Outbreaks more interesting...
If you watch the Weather Channel, you maybe familiar with the TORCON (Tornado Conditions) Index.
This has now been added as a means of perhaps making your outbreak look even more interesting,
CycloneRyne94 (talk) 09:37, June 27, 2015 (UTC)
There...its finished!!!
Please, be aware of a brand new page of mine - and the first I have done on this wiki since March, the 2031 Birmingham, England tornado family (wsc)- enjoy, guys!!!
just to say...
Just to say, I think I am going to be focused on HH Wiki, where I am bureaucrat. As you may have seen, I tend to be relatively active on there, and I haven't exactly had an interest in this wiki since mid-March. So, ill see you on HH.
What will 2015 hold?...
Based on the fact that only 25 tornadoes have actually occurred so far this year, id say that the 2015 tornado season is going to be less active than previous years. I think that perhaps an EF5 could occur, but maybe later on in the year. Recently, I have found that whilst thinking about the impacts of global warming on tropical cyclones, tornadoes have also been a regular thought, because if tropical cyclones will be more numerous and stronger, what about tornadoes? EF5 tornadoes may occur more often, hitting more built up areas instead of mostly being in rural areas. Based on the forecast for an El Nino this year by NOAA, the weather patterns for the US tornado season could be reversed. Looking back on El Nino years, tornadoes seem stro…
Hospital
So, my mom is in the hospital. it happened at 1:21A.M. on Friday morning the 30th. I woke up to my mom screaming for me in the bathroom. I asked if she was okay and she said for me to call 911. So I did. The ambulance came, rushed her to the ER. It turns out her intensities were being strngeled. She had to get surgery. She is now feeling much better.
Confession
I have I confession. I build Lincoln Log houses and then destroy them with a bean bag. Now you know the truth. I will go now. bye.
Great New Hypothetical Tornadoes Features
So Hypothetical Tornadoes Wiki is Two Years Old, though it probably celebrated that earlier in the year..
And over the last Two years, new Additions/Changes had come to the site from Time to Time.
Where were we when the site was.. well.. at least younger? and how are we doing now?
--
From Founding to the end of last year:
I myself joined Hypothetical Tornadoes Wiki in Mid-June 2013.
And when I first joined, there were only less than 50-100 images. And the only features you could add to your Tornado Outbreaks were Limited imaged of Tornadoes, maybe a radar image or two, and little or no tornado damage pictures.
And the Site, other than me, was only lucky enough to perhaps get a visitor/editor or two every Three Months (Maybe)
And that was rather sa…
Hello Everybody!
Hey everybody! My name is Not David Brown, and I have joined several wikis in my account lifetime. I started as a Wiki Contributor on video game wikis such as Mario, Kirby, and Kingdom Hearts, specifically to find cheats, codes, and walkthroughs. I got interested in making my own versions of TV shows, hurricane seasons, and now that I have found this, tornadoes.
I made my first wiki, I am a Fan Wiki (http://i-am-a-fan.wikia.com/wiki/I_Am_A_Fan_Wiki) and made several projects. I work alone there, which is fine, but I would love company to show me what you can make. I remembered the Hypothetical Hurricanes Wiki from several years ago then joined it in May.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to contributing to this wiki! …
Busy on Hypothetical Tornadoes and Hurricanes
Im going to be busy on Hypothetical Tornadoes and Hurricanes, trying to help out on HH with making seasons and HT with adding images and other stuff.
I'm going to make every possible category.
