Precursor to the much more violent Collins-Churubusco-Laotto EF4.

EF1 Near South Whitley to Dunn Mill Whitley, Allen IN 18:49-19:10 21.09 mi 1,000 yd A long-tracked multi-vortex wedge tornado remained over mainly open areas. Ground scouring indicates that this tornado was likely capable of producing EF4-EF5 damage at multiple points, however structural damage keeps the rating at EF1.
EF4 Scott, IN to Near Burr Oak, MI LaGrange (IN), St. Joseph (MI) IN, MI 18:55-19:20 14.35 mi 1,030 yd 2 deaths - See section on this tornado here. A large and violent tornado caused significant damage, destroying large parts of the community of Sturgis, Michigan. First violent tornado in Michigan since 2019. 2 people were killed and over 100 injured.
EF2 Janney Delaware IN 19:06-19:08 3.04 mi 200 yd Significant structural damage was reported from a short-lived tornado in the Janney area. Every building in the community sustained some form of damage. 2 people were injured. Furthest south strong tornado of the outbreak.

EF4 Near Sherwood Branch MI 19:31-19:40 6.04 mi 150 yd A small yet intense tornado moved over areas near the community of Sherwood. Several houses and barns were destroyed in damage reported at low-end EF4 intensity, while ground scouring suggested a very small (5-10 yard) area of winds surpassing 200 mph. Possibly a EF5 tornado. 4 people were injured.
EF5 Near Waterloo Township to Hell to North of Pinckney Washtenaw, Livingston MI 19:31-20:01 16.53 mi 2,800 yd 17 deaths - See section on this tornado here. A exceptionally powerful and violent wedge tornado caused catastrophic damage in the community of Hell, with the community being all but wiped off the map. Injuries were in the dozens and 17 people were killed. One of the most violent tornadoes on record in terms of tree damage. In addition, this was the first tornado to be rated at F5 or EF5 intensity in the state of Michigan since the Saugatuck-Hudsonville-Standale tornado in 1956.
EF2 Kendallville Noble IN 19:45-19:53 4.08 mi 300 yd A strong tornado moved directly through the center of the town of Kendallville, causing severe structural and tree damage, with one home being completely leveled and swept away, although this house was found to had been poorly constructed. 4 people were injured.
EF3 Near Coldwater Branch MI 20:04-20:10 5.66 mi 800 yd A large wedge multi-vortex tornado caused high-end EF3 damage northeast of Coldwater. Several well-built homes were leveled, with one home being swept off it's foundation completely. Farm equipment was mangled as well, with surveyors noting possible EF4 damage in several locations. 1 person was injured.
EF1 Fort Wayne Allen IN 20:09 0.41 mi 40 yd 1 death - Originally considered straight-line winds. A small and short-lived EF1 tornado tore directly through the downtown core of Fort Wayne on a severe-warned supercell, killing one person when their car was tossed from the road. Several businesses were damaged beyond repair. 19 additional people were injured.
EF2 Clear Lake Steuben IN 20:16-20:18 1.44 mi 700 yd A unusually large and powerful waterspout moved onshore in Clear Lake and moved northeast, causing significant damage to houses and trailers at high-end EF2 intensity. A bare foundation was reported along the track of the tornado, although it was later found that a mobile home had been located here. Last tornado of the day in Indiana.
EF1 Quincy Branch MI 20:27-20:30 2.40 mi 1,500 yd A massive yet weak large wedge tornado, this tornado initially touched down southwest of Quincy and quickly moved northeast, producing EF1 damage to a large part of the town. Several houses were noted to have had their roofs removed and tree debarking was reported northeast of Quincy, although the tornado was rated a high-end EF1.
EF2 Near Lansing Ingham MI 20:34-20:45 11.04 mi 700 yd A large and strong tornado moved through open areas north of the capitol city of Michigan, warranting a tornado emergency for northern Ingham County. Houses were partially or completely destroyed, and several areas were denoted at near EF3 damage. 10 people were injured, although 1 death initially attributed to the tornado was later confirmed to be natural causes.
EF3 Bryan Williams OH 20:55-21:04 9.67 mi 1,300 yd 1 death - A multi-vortex large wedge tornado cut directly through the downtown district of Bryan, producing extensive structural damage. Many houses were completely destroyed, and 1 person was killed when the mobile home they were in was destroyed. A swath of "near-EF4" damage was noted by storm surveyors in the center of Bryan, and it was noted that the tornado may have briefly attained EF4 intensity at this point. 1 person was killed and 19 were injured. First tornado of the day in Ohio.
EF4 Somserset Center Hillsdale MI 21:03-21:07 4.41 mi 1,500 yd A large wedge tornado wiped the community of Somerset Center off the face of the Earth, with many houses being partially or completely leveled. Several anchor-bolted houses were swept clean from their foundations in what storm surveyors described as "damage near EF5 intensity", although a rating of 195 mph EF4 was applied due to the noted lack of anchor bolt washers. Farm equipment was also noted to had been severely mangled, and ground scouring several inches deep was noted northeast of Somerset Center. Despite the extensive damage, no one was injured by the tornado.

EF4 Findlay Hancock OH 21:33-21:45 12.56 mi 1,000 yd 2 deaths - See section on this tornado here. A large wedge tornado cut directly through the heart of Findlay, causing widespread high-end EF4 damage. Many houses were swept from their foundations, with several houses being described at "near-EF5 level" damage. "Complete and utter devastation" was reported in downtown Findlay as a result of this tornado. 2 people were killed and nearly 100 injured, and monetary damage was reported in the millions.
EF2 Sylvania, OH to Lambertville, MI Lucas (OH), Monroe (MI) OH, MI 21:39-21:44 7.39 mi 600 yd A large cone tornado touched down in downtown Sylvania, rapidly moving northeast and intensifying, causing significant structural damage in Sylvania. Trees were downed onto houses, and some houses had their roofs removed. One house had it's exterior walls blown in near the Ohio-Michigan state line, although the house was found to be poorly-built and therefore a high-end EF2 rating was applied, although a EF3 rating was apparently considered by surveyors. The tornado then moved through the center of Lambertville, continuing to cause structural damage before lifting southwest of Temperance. 1 person was injured.
EF0 Rossford Wood OH 21:52 0.13 mi 30 yd A brief tornado touchdown occurred within the city limits of Rossford. Minimal damage was reported.
EF3 Milan Monroe, Washtenaw MI 21:57-22:04 6.86 mi 700 yd 1 death - A multi-vortex large cone tornado moved directly through downtown Milan, causing widespread significant damage. Many houses were reportedly destroyed, with some being reportedly swept from their foundations, although these houses were found to had been poorly built. It was at one of these houses where the only death of the tornado occurred. A rating of EF4 was initially considered by storm surveyors before being decided against. Trees were uprooted northeast of Milan, and ground scouring several inches deep also was reported. It has been suggested that the tornado may have briefly attained EF5 intensity at this point.

EF5 Wayne, MI to Downtown Detroit to Windsor, ON to Tecumseh, ON Wayne (MI), Essex (ON) MI, ON 22:16-22:37 25.41 mi 2,500 yd 102 deaths - See section on this tornado here. One of the deadliest tornadoes in US history. A massive rain-wrapped multi-vortex tornado cut directly through downtown Detroit and Windsor at EF5 intensity, being only the third tornado to produce F5 or EF5 damage on record in Canada. 86 people were killed in the United States by this tornado, in addition to the 16 killed in Canada. Nearly 50% of Detroit's downtown core sustained damage of some sort, and nearly 60% of Windsor's downtown core suffered similar damage. A swath of low-end EF5 damage was initially noted just west of Detroit's downtown core, with an additional swath being noted in downtown Windsor. Rated a EF5 with winds of 210 mph due to damages in Windsor, with damage being rated up to 205 mph on the US side of the border. Injuries were in the thousands.
EF0 Rocky Ridge Ottawa OH 22:30-22:31 1.46 mi 30 yd A small rope tornado touched down over the community of Rocky Ridge, causing minor tree and roof damage. No one was injured.
EF1 Grosse Ile Township Wayne MI 22:33-22:35 1.57 mi 300 yd A high-end EF1 tornado moved across the island of Grosse Ile, causing widespread structural impacts. Several houses were damaged beyond repair, with a mobile home being swept away. 2 people were injured. Last tornado of the day in Michigan.
EF3 Harrow Essex ON 22:59-23:04 5.01 mi 600 yd 1 death - A multi-vortex wedge tornado moved through the community of Harrow, causing significant damage to many houses. A Tim Hortons reportedly was swept away by the tornado although it was later found to had been poorly constructed, therefore preventing a EF4 rating from being applied. Ground scouring suggesting near-EF5 intensity was reported northeast of Harrow. 1 person was killed when the Tim Hortons was swept away.
EF3 Port Clinton Ottawa OH 23:10-23:13 3.90 mi 1,500 yd 2 deaths - A powerful rain-wrapped large wedge tornado moved through the city of Port Clinton, causing widespread severe damage in Port Clinton. Many houses had their exterior walls blown in, with a few poorly-built houses being swept from their foundations. Two people were killed when their car was thrown from the highway. Surveyors noted a swath of "near-EF4" damage in downtown Port Clinton. 2 people were killed and 4 people were injured.
EF2 Tilbury Chatham-Kent ON 23:31-23:35 3.92 mi 500 yd A tornado moved through the heart of the community of Tilbury, producing major structural damage across the community. Many houses were heavily damaged or destroyed, with several poorly-built houses being swept away. 2 people were injured.
EF1 Coatsworth Chatham-Kent ON 23:46-23:47 1.40 mi 300 yd A short-lived and weak tornado caused moderate structural damage in the community of Coatsworth, causing significant damage to many houses. 1 person was injured.
EF3 Dresden Chatham-Kent ON 00:03-00:07 5.44 mi 800 yd 1 death - A powerful multi-vortex wedge tornado moved through the community of Dresden, damaging and destroying many homes. Several houses, later found to had been poorly built, were cleanly swept from their foundations, with 1 person being killed when they didn't receive the tornado warning and their house was swept away. As with many other tornadoes that day, storm surveyors noted near EF4 damage in near locations. 1 person was killed and 6 were injured.
EF4 Prairie Siding to Chatham-Kent to Kent Bridge Chatham-Kent ON 00:35-00:50 18.72 mi 1,600 yd 3 deaths - See section on this tornado here. A powerful wedge tornado moved through the city of Chatham-Kent, producing widespread severe structural damage. Many houses were swept away, including a few well-built houses. Storm surveyors noted that the tornado likely would've been rated EF5 had it struck more well-built structures. 3 people were killed and a dozen were injured.
EF1 Strongsville Cuyahoga OH 00:46-00:49 4.01 mi 500 yd A large yet weak tornado caused some damage in Strongsville. Several houses were heavily damaged, of which two were damaged beyond repair. A mobile home was swept away. One house was noted as a candidate for a higher rating of EF2 by storm surveyors. 1 person was injured.
EF1 Blenheim Chatham-Kent ON 00:57-00:59 3.05 mi 90 yd A relatively small and weak tornado moved through the southern portion of Blenheim during the overnight hours of April 28, producing some structural damage. A few houses were severely damaged, with one house being noted as sustaining possible EF2 damage. 3 people were injured.
EF2 Westlake Cuyahoga OH 01:03-01:09 6.10 mi 600 yd 1 death - A large and strong tornado struck the community of Westlake around 9:05 pm Eastern Time, producing widespread moderate to severe structural damage. Nearly 80 homes were noted as damaged beyond repair, with a poorly built home being swept from it's foundation. 1 person was killed, and 19 were injured.
EF3 Thamesville Chatham-Kent ON 01:17-01:25 13.04 mi 800 yd A powerful multi-vortex tornado moved through the town of Thamesville during the late evening hours, producing extreme structural damage. Several houses were swept clean from their foundation, with one house being denoted as having possible EF4 damage. 10 people were injured, although remarkably no one was killed.
EF0 Lakewood Cuyahoga OH 01:30-01:31 0.99 mi 40 yd A short-lived and weak tornado struck a few houses in the community of Lakewood, producing minor damage. A tree was blown over. No one was injured.
EF1 Morpeth Chatham-Kent ON 01:40-01:43 3.40 mi 100 yd A relatively weak tornado struck the community of Morpeth late on April 28, producing some structural damage. Several houses were damaged moderately, including one house that had a exterior wall collapsed. Although a EF2 rating was originally considered, the tornado was rated a high-end EF1 due to the poor structural quality of the house.
EF2 Cleveland to Euclid Cuyahoga OH 01:42-01:53 12.00 mi 600 yd See section on this tornado here - A large and powerful tornado moved through the downtown district of Cleveland late on April 28, causing widespread significant structural damage in the area and prompting a tornado emergency for Cleveland and Euclid. Many houses were partially or completely destroyed, and high-end EF2 damage was noted in various locations, nearing EF3 intensity at points. No one was killed in this tornado, although nearly 30 people were injured.
EF3 Akron Summit OH 01:44-01:55 11.38 mi 700 yd See section on this tornado here - Another strong and large tornado struck Akron around the same time as the Cleveland tornado further north, also causing widespread significant structural damage and prompting a tornado emergency for Akron. Several poorly constructed cinder-block foundation houses were leveled and partially swept from their foundations, which caused the National Weather Service to assign a EF3 rating to this tornado. This tornado was one of the strongest tornadoes in the Cleveland-Akron area since record-keeping began. Seven people were injured.
EF0 Brooke-Alvinston Lambton ON 01:59-02:00 1.10 mi 40 yd A short lived and weak tornado caused minimal damage in the Alvinston vicinity. A few houses were slightly damaged.
EF1 Strathroy Middlesex ON 02:14-02:20 6.03 mi 110 yd A tornado caused high-end EF1 damage in the Strathroy vicinity, causing moderate structural damage in several locations. A EF2 rating was originally considered, although they reportedly held off from assigning such a rating given structural issues to the buildings that received more severe damage.
EF2 Youngstown Mahoning OH 02:35-02:39 4.01 mi 300 yd A strong tornado moved directly through the center of Youngstown, causing significant structural and tree damage along it's path. Several houses had their exterior walls blown down, originally suggesting possible low-end EF3 intensity, although the structural quality of these houses limited the rating to high-end EF2. 3 people were injured.

EF0 Near Conneaut Ashtabula OH 03:01-03:02 1.49 mi 30 yd A small tornado caused minimal damage south of Conneaut. Some tree damage occurred.
EF1 Near St. Thomas Elgin ON 03:14-03:20 6.04 mi 700 yd A large and powerful tornado touched down south of St. Thomas, embedded in a squall line moving across southern Ontario. Despite radar indications that this tornado had winds nearing 170 mph at peak intensity, suggesting a EF4 tornado, limited structural damage kept the rating at high-end EF1. One person was injured.
EF1 Aylmer Elgin ON 03:27-03:31 5.15 mi 500 yd A large tornado moved through the far southern edge of Aylmer late on April 28, causing moderate to significant structural damage. Questionable construction quality at many houses led to Environment Canada assigning a very high-end EF1 rating to the tornado. 1 person was injured.
EF2 Kearsarge Erie PA 03:41-03:50 8.04 mi 400 yd Only tornado of the outbreak in Pennsylvania and last strong tornado of the outbreak, as well as the last tornado in the United States of the outbreak. This tornado cut through the suburb of Kearsarge, just south of Erie shortly before midnight on April 28, causing widespread structural and tree damage. Several houses were reported completely destroyed, and very high-end EF2 damage was noted in several locations. 2 people were injured.
