EF4 E of Lunenburg Lunenburg VA 0529-0532 3.25 miles 800 yards 1 death – Short-lived but violent tornado destroyed several trailer homes at EF3 strength shortly after touching down before moving over Reedy Creek, completely debarking and denuding several trees at EF4 strength. Two farmhouses and three barns to the north were cleanly swept away, and a reinforced metal building was demolished with steel trusses ripped from the concrete foundation. A truck trailer was thrown a half-mile, and ground scouring occurred in empty fields. The tornado weakened to EF1 strength for the final mile of its path and dissipated to the northeast of the Lunenburg County Airport.
