The Tornado outbreak of March 17-19, 2019 was a big and catastrophic tornado outbreak that occurred from March 17 to March 19, 2019. A total of 34 tornadoes occurred. 198 people were killed, 3,372 were injured and $12.65 billion in damage occurred.

At 6:35 PM CDT, the funnel cloud that would produce the violent EF4 touched down 4.3 miles north of Chesterfield. Causing EF0 to EF1 damage, multiple mobile homes were overturned and dozens of trees were pushed over.

Intensifying quickly, a tornado emergency was declared for Chesterfield as a doppler on wheels recorded EF3 mph winds, with the winds up to 160 mph (257 km/h).

Intensifying even further into a mid-range EF4, 15 were killed in a mobile home park with 245 more being injured. Tracking 0.3 miles, a grocery store was absolutely leveled, killing 17. The tornado reached peak intensity, killing 4 in the process.

Impacting and airfield, an aircraft was completely destroyed, killing the pilot. In this area, the worst damage occurred. Many homes were completely destroyed and ground scouring was at it's deepest.

Another 4 were killed when a home was leveled at mid-range EF4 intensity. Gradually beginning to loose strength, multiple farms were completely leveled, killing 2.

A farm completely lost all of their animals and farm vehicles. Damage in this area was rated mid-range EF3. Gradually loosing strength, EF1 to EF2 damage occurred.

The now EF0 finally dissipated at 8:07 PM CDT after killing 42, injuring 977, and causing $3.8 billion (2019 USD) in damages. The following day, Missouri governor, Mike Parson, declared a state of emergency.
